Piti Guns Hike

War In The Pacific National Historical Park

Hike in a tropical jungle and explore the history of World War II on Guam.

A short and easy hike through the jungle will lead you to three Japanese Vicker type 140 mm coastal defense guns. During the Japanese occupation of Guam from 1941-1944, the Japanese built up defensive positions on the island. The CHamoru population was forced to work in building up these defenses, and did so here at Piti Guns. This same area was used as an Experimental Agricultural Station. The station was established in 1909 and funded by the USDA.
