Start your visit at the Information Kiosk. New Philadelphia is unique as the first US town founded by an African American person. But the stories of its founders and residents form a lasting legacy of perseverance and freedom against all odds. Start at the Information Kiosk to learn more. The Information Kiosk has exhibits that explore New Philadelphia’s stories. Those include the freedom spirit of Free Frank and Lucy McWorter, New Philadelphia’s founding, and how the town fought against slavery. You can also learn about the families making up this multicultural community. Paved parking, benches, brochures, and public WiFi are available at the Kiosk. The WiFi password is Frank 1836.
