Discover Native Plants in Our Courtyard

Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve

Come discover yet another reason why the Louisiana delta is such a unique place, by visiting our urban collection of native plants!

Native flora is important for sustaining native insects and animals. Across eveolutionary time, local animals, insects, and plants often evolved alongside one another and created realtionships between them. Here at the French Quarter Visitor Center, we wanted to support the natural foodweb of our area. Not to mention — a lot of our native plants are beautiful to look at! Come discover yet another reason why the Louisiana delta is such a unique place, by visiting our urban collection of native plants! We owe a lot of gratitude to the Louisiana Master Gardeners in New Orleans that come and tend to the plants in our courtyard.
