Bicycle Port Tobacco to Smallwood State Park

Thomas Stone National Historic Site

Port Tobacco Historic District and Smallwood State Park provide a contrast in landscape diversity, and travel between them is a fine bicycle ride. This route is part of the Adventure Cycling Association Tidewater Potomac Heritage Bicycling Route.

This ride is part of the Southern Maryland PHT On-Road Bicycling Route and a multi-day tidal Potomac tour, and can be shortened or lengthened depending on which options one uses to travel between routes 6 and 224--distance ranges from approximately 36 miles to 22. With lodging available at both points, this makes for a nice overnight.
