The Orin Falls Trail is a 6 mile out-and-back double track multiuse trail that leads you to a beautiful view of the Wassataquoik Stream.
Distance: 6 mi/9.7 km Difficulty: Moderate-Intermediate The Orin Falls Trail is a 6 mile out-and-back double track multiuse trail. Bikers should exercise caution due to large slippery rocks and loose gravel surfaces on the trail. The route has an average grade of 2% and elevation change of 175ft. Mountain bikes are recommended! To get to Orin Falls, start the ride at the Wassataquoik parking area located at the end of Wassataquoik Road. This is the same parking area for the Wassataquoik Ford, Wassataquoik Lean-To and campsite, as well as the Esker Campsite. The path follows a former logging road along the Wassataquoik Stream. You will ride past a junction to Barnard Mountain until you see a sign to the right for Orin Falls. Leave your bike near the Orin Falls sign before walking the short and narrow trail to the beautiful Orin Falls viewpoint. Please be mindful of others on the trail and practice the rules of trail etiquette. Yield to other users so that everyone on the trail stays safe and enjoys their time.

The roads and trail surfaces at Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument are not paved. This route has a surface of rocks, loose gravel, mud, and obstacles like downed trees and branches. Be alert when biking, since this is a multiuse trail. This route is not recommended for people with limited vision, limited mobility, or slow reaction times. The current ebike policy for the park is listed in the Superintendent’s Compendium.
