NPS Photo Calumet Theatre Tour this historic proscenium arch opera house built in 1900. Guided tours are by appointment only and last approximately 45-60 minutes. Self-guided tours available during Box Office hours. Morning sun brightens inside a miner's home. NPS Photo Central Mine at Keweenaw County Hist. Society Once home to over 1,200 people, Central allows you to walk through miner's homes in this and the mine site to see what life was like for one of the Keweenaw's most successful early mines. The Eagle Harbor Lighthouse on the shore of Lake Superior. NPS Photo Eagle Harbor Lighthouse at Keweenaw County Hist. Society Built in 1871, the lighthouse continues to aid navigation. The site contains the lighthouse, keepers quarters, and several museums. Fort Wilkins parade grounds. NPS Photo Fort Wilkins Historic State Park The U.S. army built Fort wilkins in 1844 to keep the paeace on the Keweenaw. It now serves as an example of mid-19th century army life on the northern frontier. The Hanka Homestead. NPS Photo Hanka Homestead Herman Hanka settled here with his family after he was injured in a mining accident. Preserving the self-reliant Finnish pioneer culture, many farming structures are on site. Laurium Manor Mansion. NPS Photo Laurium Manor Mansion Tours Thomas Hoatson, owner of the Calumet and Arizona Mining Company, built this 45 room, 13,000 square foot home in 1908 using the finest are rarest materials available. A look inside the kitchen in one of the log cabins. NPS Photo Old Victoria Four log cabins, restored at their original remote mining locations, give a true feeling of the life faced by copper miners and their families. The lighthouse in Ontonagon. NPS Photo Ontonagon County Historical Society Museum The museum features exhibits on area mining, logging, farming, marine, and social memorabilia. Tours are also provided of the nearby lighthouse. The Quincy Mine #2 Shaft Rockhouse in fall NPS Photo Quincy Mine Tours On a two-hour tour, visitors take a guided walk through the hoist house, ride a cog-rail tram, and go underground to learn about mining life.
