Pipestone National Monument

Visitors are offered a chance to hear stories about Pipestone's history, learn more about its cultural and natural resources, attend night sky viewings, engage in interactive archeology programs, and more.

Guided tours and special outdoor events take place between spring and fall. They are all free and open to the public.

Accessibility

For tours around the Circle Trail, please be advised that while the trail is not American Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant, it may be wheelchair accessible with some assistance (see Accessibility).

Pets

Yes — All pets are allowed on the grounds and at most formal, outdoor events/tours, but must be kept under control and on a 6' leash. There are complimentary waste bags at the trailhead to clean up after your pets.

Reservations

No — No reservations required for outdoor programming.

Age Info

All ages are welcome at formal programs and events. For tours around the Circle Trail, keep in mind it is a 3/4-mile, paved trail, but can be very hot in the summer.
