Snowshoeing around the Circle Trail is available after January 1st as long as the conditions allow for it.

Shake off the cabin fever and take advantage of Minnesota's winters on the Circle Trail. Bring your own pair of snowshoes or check out a pair for free in the Visitor Center (limited supply)!

The trail is 3/4 of a mile. Time to complete the hike varies depending on factors such as experience, fitness, and whether visitors stop for photos and to read interpretive wayside signs.

The trail is not ADA compliant, and when covered in snow can be difficult to navigate.

Pets

Yes — If snowshoeing with a pet, please keep them on a 6' leash at all times and clean up after them (complimentary waste bags are available at the trailhead).

Reservations

No — If checking out snowshoes, there is a limited supply available on a first-come, first-served basis (they may not be reserved over the phone).

Age Info

There is no age requirement; the only limiting factor is ability. Snowshoeing is a strenuous activity, please give yourself plenty of time (at least an hour) if trying it for the first time.
