Allow 2.5 hours to take the guided tour of the main house, self-guided tour of the outbuildings and grounds, and time to read the exhibits in the slave cabin.
There is no fee to tour the grounds and outbuildings, however there is a $11.00 fee per person for the ranger-guided tour of the mansion.

The Melrose estate is handicap accessible, with accessible pathways throughout the grounds and ramps to enter the mansion and slave cabin. However, the second floor of the mansion is accessible by stairs only.
