Millbrook Village
Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area
Take a walk around Millbrook Village.
When driving along Old Mine Road, you will pass many historic structures. Rounding the bend at the intersection of Old Mine Road and Route 602, Millbrook Village pops up, seemingly, out of nowhere. This small town is a recreation of a typical 19th century community. The homes and structures found here are either original to the village, or moved from their original sites. Many of these buildings were found within the park's boundaries, and moved to Millbrook for preservation and stewardship. Millbrook Village was a mill town. While the original grist mill is no longer there, another mill was moved to the area. The intersections within the village are original road beds, used to transport milled materials and bring supplies into town. From dawn until dusk, feel free to wander the village. Take time to imagine what life would have been like in such a community. During the summer and fall seasons, rangers will lead evening lantern hikes through the village, interpreting the life and times of similar small towns across the country. On select weekends, volunteers bring the town to life by demonstrating the skills of the day. Docents of the area display the arts of woodworking, weaving, spinning, blacksmithing, gardening, and more. Check our calendar of events to learn more.
