Join Eisenhower National Historic Site and our living history partners as we commemorate the events of World War I and explore how that conflict shaped the United States and its future leaders like Dwight D. Eisenhower. This event will feature several living history displays, exhibits, and free tours of the Eisenhower home.

2025 World War I Weekend at Eisenhower NHS: July 19 and 20, 2025 How did Gettysburg and the Great War shape Dwight Eisenhower and the United States? Explore this story and more at Eisenhower National Historic Site’s World War I Weekend on July 19 and 20, 2025. The National Park Service will offer special programming related to Dwight Eisenhower, Gettysburg's own Camp Colt, and the American experience in World War I. This event will include a small living history contingent, as well as participation from the U.S. Navy History and Heritage Command. In addition to special World War I programs, the Eisenhower home will be open for its regularly scheduled house tours on both Saturday and Sunday. Tours will take place hourly from 10 am through 3 pm. In addition to regularly scheduled tours of the Eisenhower home, special event programming will include the following: Saturday, 10:30 AM--The Great War and the Great Flu: Eisenhower and the Influenza Pandemic of 1918. This 20 minute program will take place at the Eisenhower Teahouse. Saturday, 12:30 PM--"You Are Lucky If You Get It" - The U.S. Signal Corps and Combat Photography in WWI. This 20 minute program will take place at the Eisenhower Teahouse. Saturday, 2:30 PM--Tank Warfare on the Western Front. This 20 minute program will take place at the Eisenhower Teahouse. Saturday, 3:30 PM--Camp Colt Walking Tour. This 60 minute long program will meet at the Gettysburg National Cemetery Parking Lot, Auto Tour Stop 16 on the Gettysburg NMP Auto Tour. Sunday, 10:30 AM--The Great War and the Great Flu: Eisenhower and the Influenza Pandemic of 1918. This 20 minute program will take place at the Eisenhower Teahouse. Sunday, 12:30 PM--"You Are Lucky If You Get It" - The U.S. Signal Corps and Combat Photography in WWI. This 20 minute program will take place at the Eisenhower Teahouse. Sunday, 2:30 PM--Tank Warfare on the Western Front. This 20 minute program will take place at the Eisenhower Teahouse. Admission to Eisenhower NHS is free. Visitors may drive directly to the site. Please use 250 Eisenhower Farm Rd for GPS or visit here for directions. Visitors should enter the site from Emmitsburg Rd. Please follow signs for on-site parking.

This event will take place primarily outdoors. Several exhibits will be in grassy fields that are adjacent to paved walkways. One exhibit will be in the Eisenhower bank barn, which is accessible via a grassy slope and a ramp. The Eisenhower home is a historic structure. The second floor is only accessible via stairs.
