Take a "Bell-fie"

Independence National Historical Park

Come see the international symbol of freedom in all its glory. Learn about the Liberty Bell's legacy as a symbol of protest and celebration, from its humble beginnings as the State House bell to its use as a rallying cry to end slavery and an inspiration to the modern civil rights movement. And don't forget to get that photo!

Get it? You know, like a selfie! See the Liberty Bell. Look at the iconic crack, take a photo to prove that you stood beside the famous icon of liberty, and then take a minute to really think about the inscription on the Liberty Bell, "Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants Thereof." Abolitionists, woman suffrage advocates, and civil rights leaders all really thought about those words when they used the Liberty Bell to call attention to their causes. Curious about the crack? Ask a friendly park ranger.
