Ninety Six National Historic Site

A one-mile paved trail will take you through the area of the 1781 siege, by the original Star Fort, through the location of the colonial town, and to the Stockade Fort, the location of the 1775 battle.

Follow the paved one-mile path to the American Revolutionary battlefield. Along the way read the interpretive signs. Stop to learn about the Patriot siege on the original Star Fort, the best preserved earthen star shaped fort from the war. Immerse yourself in the experience of the towns citizens from the Colonial Period to the Revolutionary War. The partially reconstructed Stockade Fort, the location of the 1775 battle as well as part of the 1781 siege. Finish up the loop with the Stockade Fort, the location of the 1775 battle and part of the 1781 siege, and the Logan Log House.

This paved trail is approximately three feet wide. There are a few hills and one large hill between the town and the stockade fort. There is a wheel chair for loan in the visitor center on a first come, first served basis.
