UTEP Student Art Exhibit
Chamizal National Memorial
Through a partnership with the University of Texas El Paso and Chamizal National Memorial, student artists will display sculpted works throughout the park from April 19th through June. The exhibit opening will coincide with National Park Week activities at Chamizal National Memorial and continue through the month of June.
The Memorial Gallery showcases the work of talented artists from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) led by Angel Cabrales, focusing on this year’s National Park Week Theme: Greatest Hits. Inspired by iconic moments in national park history, this exhibition highlights how parks—like Chamizal—preserve not just landscapes, but legacies. Featuring sculptures, ceramics, and neon work, these pieces explore the significance of national parks as places of memory, activism, and transformation. Just as music’s greatest hits define an era, these artistic works celebrate the enduring impact of parks on communities and culture.
