A 1/4 mile dirt and gravel trail that branches off the Eagle Trail.

This 1/4 mile trail branches off the Eagle Trail. Start at the Trail Head near the amphitheater and follow Eagle Trail approximately 1/4 mile to reach the Honey Locust Trail.

This trail is a narrow, dirt and gravel hiking trail. It may have wet, rough, or uneven surfaces. It is not wheelchair accessible.

Pets

Yes — Pets are welcome in all outdoor areas at Waco Mammoth National Monument. Your pets are sure to enjoy our paved trail, picnic area, and grassy knolls near the parking lot. Please remember: Pets must be accompanied by their people at all times. They must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet at all times. Please clean up after your pets. Pets are NOT allowed in the dig shelter or inside buildings. Because guided tours enter the dig shelter, pets are not allowed on tour. Only registered service animals are allowed inside buildings at Waco Mammoth National Monument. A word of caution: Do not leave pets unattended in vehicles. Interior temperatures of vehicles can soar above 120°F (49°C) in minutes. Pets can quickly overheat and die under these conditions, even with the windows cracked.
