Hike an easy or moderate trail to see panoramic views or to experience a deep sandstone canyon.

Easy Trails Easy trails have uneven ground, but are fairly level. All mileages are one way distances. Goosenecks Trail is 0.1 miles (0.2 km) with an elevation change of less than 50 feet (15 m) to a viewpoint with dramatic canyon views. Sunset Point Trail is 0.4 miles (0.6 km) with an elevation change of less than 50 feet (15 m) that offers sweeping panoramic views and is good for watching the sunset light up the cliffs. Capitol Gorge Trail is 1.0 miles (1.6 km) with an elevation change of 80 feet (24 m) in the bottom of a deep canyon past historic inscriptions with a short climb to waterpocket ("tanks"). Grand Wash Trail is 2.2 miles (3.6 km) with an elevation change of 200 feet (61 m) in the bottom of a deep narrow canyon. Moderate Trails Moderate trails have a mix of steep grades and level sections with elevation changes of less than 500 feet (152 meters). All mileages are one way distances. Cohab Canyon Trail is 1.7 miles (2.7 km) with an elevation change of 440 feet (134 m) through a hidden canyon with views of Fruita and spur trails to more panoramic viewpoints. Fremont River Trail is 1.0 miles (1.6 km) with an elevation change of 480 feet (146 m) along the river and orchards before steeply climbing to a viewpoint. Hickman Bridge Trail is 0.9 miles (1.4 km) with an elevation change of 400 feet (122 m) to a 133-foot natural bridge and canyon views.

Trails vary from short, easy walks (less than a mile roundtrip), to moderate trails with over 400 feet of elevation change. Trail surfaces include slickrock, packed dirt, stone steps, and loose gravel. None of these trails are paved. Service animals are allowed.
