Bicycling is allowed on any road within Dinosaur National Monument, but is not allowed on any trails. Paved roads within the monument are narrow, and often have no shoulders. Bicyclists should take proper measures to stay safe, such as riding single-file, wearing bright and/or reflective clothing, and being aware of your surroundings. Bicycle racks are only available at the Quarry Visitor Center and the Quarry Exhibit Hall within the monument. You are responsible for securing your belongings. Also, remember to fuel yourself for the season. Summers are hot and dry, and winters are cold and dry. Drink water regularly, before you get thirsty. Where to Bicycle Rainbow Park to Island Park – Enjoy views of the Green River and colorful geologic features. An area map is available by contacting the visitor center. Yampa Bench Road – Ride along a bench above the Yampa River, with changing views of the river and its canyons. Many side canyon hikes await your exploration. Cub Creek Road – Also known as the Tour of Tilted Rocks Scenic Drive, this road offers several scenic overlooks, wayside exhibits, and hiking trails to explore. A guidebook is available for purchase at either visitor center. Many dirt roads on BLM land adjacent to the monument are also suitable for bicycling. Contact the Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office for more information.
