Walk the Canyon Nature Trail

Timpanogos Cave National Monument

Take a walk along the American Fork river on the north side of the canyon. This side of the canyon features wildlife and plants not found on the south side. There are several interpretive signs along the trail and benches to rest on. You can also view the cave entrance roughly 1,000 feet higher and across the canyon using an installed scope.

Walking to the end of the trail and back takes approximately a half hour. If you wish to stop and read every sign or rest frequently it may take up to an hour. This trail is only a half-mile round trip.

Accessibility

At the East trail head there are two steps leading up to the trail. To avoid any steps, park at the Swinging Bridge picnic area and walk through the picnic area to access the trail on that side. The trail is paved and has benches along the way for rest. There are places where the trail has worn down and is less smooth.
