2025 Chancellorsville Anniversary Join us on Saturday, May 3 for special programs commemorating the Battle of Chancellorsville and on Saturday, May 10 for an open house at the "Stonewall" Jackson Death Site. May 3 Programs Investigating Chancellorsville: Extended Edition 10 am-11 am Guided walk Meet at the battle painting outside the Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center (9001 Plank Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22553) Join a ranger for an extended version on our daily Chancellorsville tour with a special focus on the events that took place in the woods surrounding the visitor center on May 3, 1863 Living History at Jackson’s Flank Attack 10 am-4 pm Drop-in Jackson’s Flank Attack, tour stop #8 on the Chancellorsville Battlefield Visit living historians at the Jackson Flank Attack tour stop and learn about the life of the soldiers on the Chancellorsville Battlefield. “The Heaviest Rain of Bullets”: Jackson’s Flank Attack 2 pm-3:30 pm Guided walk Meet at Jackson’s Flank Attack, tour stop #8 on the Chancellorsville Battlefield Join park staff and living historians for a guided tour examining the results of one of the war’s most famous attacks. This walk will utilize a variety of primary sources to discuss the fighting that broke out at the end of Confederate General Stonewall Jackson’s flank march and how U.S. forces put up a stiff, but ultimately futile resistance. (The program entails approximately 0.5 mi of walking round trip over 90 minutes. Visitors should wear good shoes and bring water.) May 10 at the "Stonewall" Jackson Death Site Open House at the Jackson Death Site 9 am-5 pm Drop-in 12019 Stonewall Jackson Road, Woodford, VA 22580 Confederate General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson died on May 10, 1863. Visit the farm office of the Fairfield Plantation, the building that Jackson died in, and reflect on the life and legacy of this historical figure.
