Picnic shelter surrounded by trees and grass

Picnic at Whitman Mission

Whitman Mission National Historic Site

Enjoy a picnic at the Whitman Mission picnic shelter. The picnic shelter is available whenever the park grounds are open unless otherwise noted. Please refrain from picnicking outside of the picnic area.

After walking the trails and touring the museum, enjoy a picnic at our picnic shelter! The picnic area is also a great place to play games like frisbee or catch. Out of respect for the events that happened here, please refrain from picnicking or playing games outside of the picnic area. Charcoal grills are available for you to use. Please practice fire safety when using the grills. Fires must be in a grill or a container that will not damage the table, trees, grass or other park resources. Fires and other heat sources must be extinguished and completely cold before any materials are placed in park trash cans. Coals or other combustible materials should never be thrown into the vegetation.
