The Sandstone Falls Overlook is about 5 minutes from the Sandstone Falls Visitor Center and has recently had some landscaping which has resulted in an awesome picnic area with amazing views down to the New River and the Sandstone Falls. It is still another 25 minute drive down the mountain and along the New River Road to reach the Sandstone Falls Boardwalk area, but from this height, you are observing the river from the vantage point of the avian high flyers.

Gravel trail from the parking area to the overlook, but the path is steep. It is less than a two minute walk to get from the parking area to the overlook. Restrooms are available at this location.
