Finally, a contractor that cares! After the stress of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, my wife and I spent an entire year searching for a contractor who was reasonably priced and actually committed to making our home whole again. On a recommendation from a coworker, we finally hired Ace Handyman Services, and we are so grateful we did. The entire team—Sarah, Jonathan, Brian, and Kevin—worked closely with us to ensure the repairs stayed within our budget. Anyone with an older home (ours was built in 1952) knows that unforeseen problems always pop up once you start digging. When we hit a structural surprise, Ace found an affordable solution that brought everything up to code while actually adding character to the finished look. What impressed me most was the follow-up. They didn't just finish and disappear; they made sure every single detail was to our satisfaction. Anything I brought up was explained clearly and fixed according to our agreement. I truly felt taken care of because they listened to our requests and set realistic expectations. They didn't "close" the project until they knew we were 100% satisfied. Highly recommended!
I needed to rebuild my kitchen after finally getting FEMA funding. So I searched and Ace Handyman Services was the only one that immediately came out, talked and guided me through my project, gave me an Estimate within a few days and it was comparable to alot of other companies, but I felt more comfortable with them. We agreed on the terms and set the appointment and now I have a nice, new clean kitchen to come home to everyday! Thank you Ace Handyman Services and will be on my speed dial from here on out!
Did not come prepared. Didn't have a magnet. Didn't have a tape measure. Charged 1.5 hours (was 68 minutes) when I timed him going to and from his service vehicle 5 times for a total of 20 minutes. Left two holes in wall. Secured metal bracket to metal/aluminum studs with 3/4" drywall screws. Bracket came loose the first time I moved it. Called and had a supervisor come out who removed the bracket and installed it with the proper anchors.
I am giving Max Chandler the five star rating, he arrived on time and did an outstanding job and did not leave until it was done as requested. This is an outstanding service for retiree's that just would rather have someone else do the work now. The price tag was very reasonable, but the final bill damaged the company's integrity. I was given a quote for eight hours labor at $115. per hour, Max started at 9am and left at noon, with parting words that he had to adjust our billing as this did not take as much time that was quoted, which was amazing business etiquette. The time was verified by security cameras showing when he arrived and as he drove out of the driveway. My final bill reflected a four-hour labor which was a significant reduction from my original quote. I paid the remaining bill because I was satisfied with the job, Max did excellent work, however I may be hesitant if my next job was bigger and would they pad hours in their favor. All in all, great job!
Highly recommend Ace Handyman in St. Pete. We had a pretty big job resulting from water damage that had been hidden for a while. We had a few companies come out and tried to scare us into choosing them. Sarah at ace came out and had a very thorough, calm overview of what we could expect. She was the first person we felt wasn’t trying to trick us into doing more than we needed. Max was incredible. He accomplished so much in such a short time and it came out better than I thought was possible. We are already planning future projects to bring them in on. From beginning to end their communication was great and honest. I cannot recommend them enough.
