We’ve had a wonderful experience at Action Karate South Philadelphia. Our 4-year-old daughter has been attending the Ninja Shark lessons for a few months now, and the growth we’ve seen has been amazing. Not only has her physical agility and coordination improved through the karate movements, but the program also places a strong emphasis on weekly character lessons that teach positive values and important life principles. The instructors truly go above and beyond. They actively engage parents during class, helping us understand both the physical maneuvers and the character lessons, and they provide helpful resources so we can reinforce those lessons at home. Every instructor has been incredibly kind, patient, and encouraging, and they make a genuine effort to get to know each individual student and support them in excelling at their own pace. We’re so grateful to have found such a supportive, positive, and well-rounded program for our daughter and highly recommend Action Karate South Philadelphia to other families.
Our family loves Action Karate in South Philadelphia. Our 2 kids (ages 8 & 9) have been taking karate for the past year and they have improved tremendously in discipline and skills. The teachers are extremely kind and encouraging. I would highly recommend!
Our kid has taken to karate more than tee ball, soccer, or track, and it has a lot to do with the fantastic instructors at Action Karate. I was initially concerned about the 8-month commitment, but our kid hasn’t shown signs of wanting to stop, even after a first tournament where he placed in the last group and cried. I messaged the teachers about it and in the next class Mr Fernandez brought him up to lead the group in the tournament routine. He got down on his level and gave him some praise for showing true confidence, and our kid bounced back. Mr Fernandez is so warm and obviously loves each kid. Mr Ryan seems trained as an early childhood educator. Mr Wade is so friendly and clearly loves his job. All of the support staff have been wonderful with the kids. We are so glad to have joined Action Karate!
We had an amazing birthday party for our 5-year-old son at Action Karate in South Philly! The instructors are fantastic, and the value is excellent for the price. Mr. Fernandez is incredible — so engaging, patient, and professional with the kids. He made the party fun and memorable for everyone. I would strongly recommend Action Karate for birthday parties!
Action Karate South Philly has been the greatest addition to our family’s lives this past year. My 5 year old son joined 8 months ago and his discipline, confidence and self-control has been on the rise throughout this journey. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient and kind to all who step inside. Mr, Fernandez, Mr. Ryan and Mr. Wayde are a joy to watch lead this dojo and have done a fantastic job growing this community that overflows with positivity. In January, adults were offered free lessons. We were encouraged to take lessons because it’s the best way to be a role model for our kids. I couldn’t agree more and have stuck with it for 3 months now. When my son watches me take lessons, I can tell it motivates him to keep up with his lessons. I would highly recommend Action Karate to anyone looking to give their child or themselves some structure and to learn valuable skills that help in all facets of life.
