Absolutely love this place! I've been friends with Casey Jones, the in-house luthier, for years and he's the best if you ever need guitars setup or repairs done. I've super impressed at how he can make guitars I've had that are "ok" something incredible. He truly cares that things are the done the right way and deeply vested in making sure you walk away with a proper instrument. We were there to pick up an Alverez my buddy had never really liked and we were both blown away by the improved tone and playability. Also finally got to meet Chris after following Alamo on Youtube for years (go Chris and Cooper!). He was super helpful at providing a trade in estimate since I was looking for a new acoustic. He offered a lot of great advice and assisted with getting the guitar I wanted ordered. Cannot wait until it arrives! The selection was amazing and the personal care these folks take is bar none. Going forward, I'm always going to Alamo. The experience was way more personalized than other places I've been and these guys know what they're talking about. And on a sidenote, the downtown SA location is siiiick. Historic building with vibes you just can't get in strip centers or malls. Go support a local legend and you won't regret it! Bought the o10e Isabell and was very happy with the experience. It was prompt communication with the order with Zac by text message and Zac helped get it expedited shipped to me overnight. Got it the next day, Well packed/cushioned, and the guitar was great. I would most likely buy my next guitar or other gear from them.
Awesome music store. Go check out the Furch Guitars , made in Cech Republic. Ask for Chris, he is very knowledgeable and has toured the plant where they are made. He explained the combination of old world craftsmanship, quality materials, and modern technology, used to produce an outstanding product. The music store also has Pianos, and a large selection of other instruments. Very happy to see this San Antonio Institution still up and running.
I have purchased quite a few high end guitars from Alamo and it's because of the sales expertise I get from David Clecker in guitars. He takes the time to get to know your style of play and what suits you best. I have taken David's recommendation on more than a few guitars that I was on the fence about and they turned out to be the ones I play the most (below are three of those). Great guy, too. Alamo should put him in more YouTube videos so more people can get to know him.
Amazing customer service!!! I was shopping around for a surprise gift for my daughter's XV and came across their website. They immediately contacted me, they understood my budget as I'm planning the XV and my daughter already owns an Anacleto accordion🪗 so they knew exactly what I was looking for. Zach gave me options and great deals! Chris helped me out over the phone since I'm 250 miles away...It was a smooth purchase and was shipped immediately! They are AMAZING!
