I recently had the pleasure of visiting Artifacts in Pittsburgh, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience for any lover of unique art and antiques. Walking through their thoughtfully curated space felt like stepping into a living museum where every piece tells a story. The highlight of my visit was discovering this stunning oversized art piece that now graces my foyer wall. The scale and presence it brings to the space is remarkable - it's become not just a decoration but a true conversation starter with a nearly half century from the late artist. What makes Artifacts special is that they don't just sell items; they connect you with pieces that resonate personally. The owner guided me through the selection process with knowledge and patience. They took time to understand my aesthetic preferences and space requirements, then introduced me to several one-of-a-kind options. There was never any pressure - just genuine enthusiasm for helping match the right artifact to the right home. What sets Artifacts apart is their commitment to authenticity and history. Each antique, whether a mid-century modern chair, an art deco lamp, or a Victorian side table, comes with its own provenance and story. The owner even delivered the mid century art piece we purchased himself! Full of stunning, showstopper pieces. super interesting to walk through, though be be warned they're priced accordingly, you aren't finding a table here for 50 bucks. if you have the cash to spend though, or just like looking through the collection and daydream about working the lottery, it's definitely the place to go! (there's a buzzer next to the door to call someone to let you in, you don't have to call the number if someone's in the building)
So many cool and unique items are here. Some old, some new, some really bizarre. The pricing is reasonable too. I went in to buy an area rug and for my budget, I got the rug I love and a few other fun items to accent. Who knew I needed a giant wooden snail?
Jaw dropping. Amazing. Breathtaking. These are the words that instantly come to mind when you walk through those double glass doors. Artifacts is the place to go if you need beautiful, one of a kind and quality furniture! Also a wonderful source of African Art, Taxidermy, and Artwork. Also 10,000 rugs!!!
