Love this spot. I'm able to understand and practice the basics as much as I want. The ambience is also great, usually good background music and the instructors know their stuff and have been a great resource.
Found this place through classpass and did a trial class. It was pretty great. Instructor was top notch and explained things well, even to a beginner like me. Definitely got a good workout in. Might go back for another class at some point and try it again. Highly recommend.
I’ve been a member for a few months and I’m so happy to have found Bay Breakers! Each instructor has a little bit of a different teaching style, which means you’ll get something fresh from each class you take. It’s always a little nerve-racking to try something new, but they’re so welcoming those nerves don’t last long. Although martial arts in general are very male dominated there have always been several women kicking ass in my class or doing more advanced training, and that really rocks.
I’ve been to a few boxing gyms and Bay Breakers is my favorite. In 2 weeks here I think I improved more than a month boot camp I did because the coaches give a lot more personal feedback. Ernie’s classes are great he focuses a lot on footwork, movement, distance control, and technique. I learned how to find my range and how important it is to get into position to do combos. Dan’s classes are also a lot of fun. They are more intense and more conditioning, but he also teaches a lot of movement, combos, and technique. He emphasizes correct technique and helped me correct a lot of my bad habits, especially in my left hook. Definitely recommend Bay Breakers for anyone wanting to learn how to box or improve their skills
Bay Breakers Gym is a great place to learn and improve your boxing skills. I’ve gone to a dozen or so classes and have really enjoyed the experience. Ernie’s classes are amazing and have really pushed my skills to the next level. He’s the type of instructor who will make you take the time to master a combo and won’t let you move until you get it perfect. My footwork and flow as a boxer have improved dramatically under his guidance. Dan is a phenomenal instructor as well. His classes are a real workout and have pushed my conditioning to the next level, without sacrificing form. He also has a super positive attitude that makes the hard work and challenge fun. I haven’t had the chance to work with the other instructors yet but look forward to it in the future. I definitely recommend Bay Breakers to anyone looking to try out the sport or to push their skills to the next level.
