I first started going to Black Rose Tattoo and having Asa be my tattoo guy in I think 2020/ 2019. It's 2025 and I have a full sleeve completed and have started a pant leg as well. I have enjoyed each experience here. The artwork is phenomenal and the conversation is steady. Asa and I have found a bonding over chickens, gardening and music. Life doesn't need to be more complicated than that. I ask for a specific take on the traditional style and I receive it each time. That alone, gives me reason to recommend the shop. I am always getting compliments on the work I have had done and I am consistently telling people to check out this business.
This is hands down the best American Traditional shop around. Asa, along with the other talented artists, are rooted in tattoo tradition using hand-made machines and Asa’s own Castle Pigments inks which have a richness and color that simply cannot be duplicated. The heart and love for the craft of tattooing overwhelms as you enter the shop and interact with its artisans, who have filled every free space on their walls with hand drawn, original flash. Always welcoming and always leaving with amazing artwork. Will return again and again.
Everyone at Black Rose has been wonderful! I’ve been tattooed by Ava and Asa quite a bit already and they are both very skilled and talented.
Been getting tattooed here since 2022. Asa and his team are the best in Lexington. The shop is always clean and everyone there is friendly and very professional. If you’re looking for a new tattoo be sure to check them out.
I’ve gone here several times, and have so far been tattooed by both Asa and Austin. Both are very talented, down to earth and will help guarantee you walk out with something you’ll be happy with. The other artists that work there are excellent as well. If you want American Traditional, THIS is the spot! Killer work as always and a good time.
