Overall very nice gym. I like the amount of equipment and variety of stuff they have. On the flip side, the classes are annoying. I hate how they schedule 2 at the busiest hours making it super crowded and I can’t do half my workout. Some of the machines have been broken for like 2 weeks. As a brand new gym you'd think they would have people come and fix it right away. It’s very frustrating to come back everyday and see the same piece of equipment unavailable when the gym is super new. The overall gym environment is kinda stingy, probably not a good option for a beginner. Staff is cool. The sauna is super hot and clean which is nice.
gym is nice and clean and the staff is friendly - they immediately try to upsell you an expensive personal training plan with trainers of various levels. And if you don't take the training plan, there is no one to willing to show you how to use the equipment. The $1 dollar promo to check is out the club is really a 3 month commitment plus annual fee- so only the enrollment fee is waived, not the annual fee. Also the perks for the peak membership is misleading, you can bring a friend to everything but the classes - all of these things were not told to me during the sign up - yet they hounded me with multiple phone calls for my bank routing number which I understand now this must be due to the complicated cancelation plan. And when I tried to get a copy of the membership application that likely explains all of this (since I wasn't verbally told this at sign up)- with all their technology, they can't send me a digital copy, I have to come in person to obtain! So far, not happy with the scam. That is not true - I was not asked for $120 up front which is what the cost would be to cancel my member ship now (I was asked for my routing number but was not give an total). Perhaps you should ask your crew not to sign people up in the middle of the Dollar Tree and instead ask them to come in for a more formal review of the contract.
Crunch Fitness has a really nice facility with great equipment, and most of the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s a solid gym and I plan to continue being a member. That said, there have been a few experiences that give me pause. I’ve personally seen a handful of staff give members dirty looks when they think no one is watching, which isn’t a great vibe in a gym environment. My roommate also had an issue with the personal training department being misleading about contract terms. To their credit, management eventually made it right, but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. My biggest issue was with childcare access. I’ve been coming for the past month on a Peak membership and regularly dropping my daughter off without issue. Only recently, upon entering, I was told I actually needed “Peak Results” for childcare. I showed the Instagram advertisement that clearly had a dot next to childcare access, but staff explained that the dollar sign means it’s an add-on. That’s confusing and misleading advertising, plain and simple. Being told afterward that “it’s only $4 more” misses the point — it’s not about the amount, it’s about transparency. On top of that, the power went out during one visit and cut my partner’s workout short, which was frustrating. Crunch has a lot going for it, but clearer communication and less “gotcha” moments would go a long way. I’ll continue my membership, but my family and roommates are about one more shady experience away from taking our business elsewhere.
Stopped in for the first time today. Gym just opened so everything is organized and clean. Talked to some of the staff and they answered most of my questions. They were professional and friendly. All the equipment is new and all areas of workouts are clearly labeled. Excited for Zumba. When I went at 2pm it wasn't too crowded. Not too sure if it is overly crowded during peak times. Only concern is parking. Because of all the other businesses in that shopping complex, the parking lot looked pretty full and it wasn't even peak time.
Haha yeah this establishment is a joke. For such well-known established commercial gym, you’d think this place would be a private gym opening up their first gym for the very first time. They basically will tell you anything you want to hear so you sign up for a membership. I was told that they needed personal trainers. They were extremely flakey the ENTIRE durations and throughout nearly every single encounters. I gave the director my phone number, he never even texted me back & then when I confronted days later in person, I was told that they were full. They seem very adamant at first as well, but it was all bs. Yet, his demeanor also had changed when he could visibly see my arms that time around. “Oh will you still be a member here”(LOL yeah bc they want my $$$$) “Just give it a month” “Do you plan on going somewhere else”. Okay where was that urgency & energy @ two days ago?? You remembered my name, but couldn’t even remember to respond to my message. The moment you noticed my physical appearance & how I actually am really into fitness, your approach was quite different. Hm strange. They’re just looking for influencer type of people perhaps lmfao? Then I was told they’re intentionally hiring a ton of trainers to filter out the good & bad ones. The next day, while I was working out an employee approached me & had told me that they were just cleared to start bringing on more trainers and were doing open interviews. Okay cool, well I had a doctors appointment to go to & was told I’d be fine if I came back in an hour. LESS than an hour later… “Oh well now they’re done and they’ve already brought on more people” “They’re only wanting full time people really”. Anyways, the majority(90%) of the personal trainers there gave me such an awful, unapproachable, and SNOOTY vibe and i’ve been lifting for well over 3 years. The staff altogether are extremely off putting to anyone who’s seriously into lifting. In addition to the fact that they lack female personal trainers in the first place, i’m not sure why they wouldn’t want to bring me on?? Checks out why the ratio is 20/80. Guess they don’t value their women customers, so I went ahead & cancelled my membership bc I got tired into feeding into their lies & belligerent propaganda just so they can keep members. Their equipment is ight. Planet Fitness will ALWAYS be on top like seriously. The one off Nicholasville will provide you with a much more welcoming & CLEANER experience!
