Portion sizes are massive! It says on the menu, to order 3-4 small plates/starters per person. We got 6 dishes between two people and it was way too much. The staff seem to agree, the waiter said he thought we were super hungry to order so much food. Although he didn't mention that until we asked him for the cheque, would have been handy to hear that when we were ordering. The food was a little under seasoned, but we didn't try everything on the menu. Price was pretty good and obviously the views are gorgeous.
We travelled to Edinburgh and arrived late. As we were a group of four people with two pets, we weren’t sure which places would be able to accommodate all of us together. The restaurant staff welcomed us very warmly, including our pets, who received plenty of attention and affection. The restaurant has a very pleasant themed atmosphere, and the menu goes beyond exclusively Mexican options. We really enjoyed it and highly recommend it!
Went here spur of the moment and it was a pleasant surprise! We have been looking for a great taco/ mexican place and it's amazing. The portion sizes are generous, even with the small plates so only get at most two per person if you're going for mains too. We got the chicken tacos, chicken wings in habenero sauce, chicken burrito and the fried chicken burrito bowl. The sides were lovely, the chicken wings could be better if they were crispy but that's a small note. The chips were amazing! So good! The burrito bowl was really good and a really big serving, but really really tasty. The burrito was the best he's ever had - the only complaint was the portion difference was obvious and felt like he could eat two.
Had the nicest meal at El Castillo Mexican bar and Grill! Although It was a quiet Sunday night, the speediness of the drinks and food arriving was great! There is a good range of food choices on the menu, and the drinks menu was the same. My mum and I shared a chicken enchilada, and the mushroom fajitas. Both were absolutely delicious! Our waitress Archana was lovely! She was really friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Would absolutely recommend this place for a lovely meal out! The decor is also really gorgeous. A mix chic Mexican vibes.
This was a great choice for me. It was a Saturday afternoon and this place was so quiet. I was the only diner at 12.30. I had the chilli con carne and it was a generous portion. The lady that served me was very pleasant. I was nicely full and by the time I left there were a few people had come in. Nice place right on Newhaven harbour and you can go for a good circular walk after or before.
