I had a great time learning the foundations and basics of some ballroom dances! I had private lessons, and Hannah is a great instructor! Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it to many of the dance parties for beginners, but those are where you can actually practice what you’ve learned. It’s a bit on the expensive side for me, and the classes felt short for what I was paying. Overall good experience, though!
5/5 stars!! My husband and I are not dancers and we wanted to look like we knew what we were doing during our first dance. We found Fred Astaire Dance Studio and took lessons with Hannah. She was amazing, very patient and funny. We're so happy we took lessons here and find it an invaluable experience. Our guests commented on our dance saying we looked professional! Thank you guys for helping us make our first dance unforgettable!!
I don’t normally do reviews but sometimes you do something in life that changes you for the better and it needs to be shared. My wife and I wanted to learn something new and dance lessons had been on our list for a while. This led us to this studio. We had one lesson and then the next thing we knew we were doing private lessons a few times a week. We did this about a year and learned so much in a relatively short amount of time. I feel like we could dance at any wedding or whatever occasion and put together a dance. We felt more well-round and a sense of accomplishment at our new skills. I wish I could say the dancing, dance parties and outings were the best thing about this studio. The dancing was great but the people who run this place are amazing. The instructors are what made this experience so much more. All of them are so much fun and always your biggest fan. We loved all of them and way they created a “dance family” environment. Our main instructor, Hannah was so much fun and was always pushing us to explore and excel. We love Hannah as a dance instructor and as a person. Do yourself a favor and just go for one lesson and see what it’s all about. I promise you will not be disappointed. Thank you Fred Astaire.
Fred Astaire will forever be my home away from home! The instructors are knowledgeable and professional! They are the welcome mat at your front door and the last thing you see before you leave for the night! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and makes any beginner feel comfortable! The owners, Amy and Tavier, have truly brought dance back to Kansas City! I’ll be forever grateful for how dance has changed me! It’s truly a place that fosters growth and challenges people beyond the status quo! Let dance transform your life, just as it has mine, and give you the mental clarity you so deserve! I hope God blesses Fred Astaire Kansas City in all the best ways possible!
Cameron and I had a fantastic experience learning our first dance at Fred Astaire. Our instructor Michell is incredible and we had such a fun time with her at all of our classes (in the picture above we surprised her with our Twilight shirts after talking about Twilight with her the class before😂). We did 10 lessons about once a week until the week before our wedding. We went from knowing little to nothing about dancing to feeling confident during our dance and even bringing some of our audience to tears🥲 During our lessons we were able to learn a few other steps to use throughout our reception as well. We really enjoyed our experience and would recommend first dance lessons at Fred Astaire to everyone.
