If Google would allow me to rate this place with ZERO stars I would. I brought books in to sell to them and the young lady at the front dug her nails into the books and bent the pages and covers of the books before they even looked at them to give me an offer. She seemed appalled that I asked her to be careful with my books as they are not theirs yet. The books brand new cost $72 all together and my books were in like new condition…no spine damage or page or cover damage. They offers me $2 ( TWO DOLLARS ). That is 3% of the cost that they could sell the books at. I was so shocked that I actually cursed. ( I don’t curse at all ) I asked for my books back and when I was given them back I checked for damage and of course there was from the lady who didn’t care about how she handled other people’s books. So now I have less gas in my car and damaged books. While I was there they offered a lady who brought a whole box of books in $1 ( ONE WHOLE DOLLAR ) I also let the lady know that she had damaged my book and her response was one that showed she didn’t care. DO NOT COME HERE EVEN IF YOU WANT TO BUY BOOKS. THEY HAVE SHOWN THAT THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT ALLOW THEM TO SELL BOOKS. If I could rate NEGATIVE stars I would.
Always love checking this place out. The pricing is fair. While I think some items are priced higher than I want, others are much lower, so it makes up for it. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and patient. I typically leave with multiple bags of books during their outdoor sales. Anytime I can spare a few minutes traveling thru the reno area, I enjoy stopping to book shop here!
This place is amazing! A true God send for homeschoolers! I highly suggest, weather pending, the $5 book bag desk outside on Sundays. Anything you can fit in the bag provided, good sized bag mind you, for 5 bucks. Just go!!!!
BOOKLOVER PARADISE! Many new and used books, so many in Spanish too! The kids section would make every grade school teacher cry with joy. Because of the outstanding options for the classroom. If you are someone that supports schools definitely add some for your classroom. The Sunday bag sales are OUTRAGEOUS $5 a bag for fun books! Lots of gift options. Be generous because it’s hard to not sack a stack. You will thank me but thank them first! TRAVELING and short on space? The post office is right up the street AND you can mail them home or to loved ones book rate. ( low low low cost)
LOVE this store. I have been coming here sporadically for about 2 years and have always had a positive experience. The staff is always very friendly and knowledgeable. The store is very clean and well organized. They keep a very current and relevant selection. They offer free tea all day and for first time shoppers you get a free book coupon. The prices are extremely reasonable and it’s a great place to offload old books. They buy what they can and otherwise you can donate the rest for their monthly warehouse sales or take them back home. You likely won’t make a lot off what you sell to them unless you have extremely valuable or current books, but people should understand that, books often don’t retain a lot of value. This is a place for people who love to read and the culture of it, so if you’re interested in the money aspect you can try your luck on eBay or another platform, but this is a very convenient option to give new love to your old books. Highly recommend a visit here!
