My experience at Sellwood Yoga has made yoga an integral part of my commitment to support my aging body and spirit. The yoga for healthy aging sessions refresh my spirit and gently support me having a healthy body and mind. Brilliant treat!
Nice yoga studio, especially love the balcony availability in the warmer months (or even the ability to open the balcony doors for some fresh air). My one critique is that they really over book the classes. It’s so crowded when classes are fully booked to the point where if you’re not short you can’t fully relax into poses because you’re having to be mindful of not getting into other people’s spaces.
I was really excited to try this studio, but the experience was disappointing. I arrived early, couldn’t find parking, and the map sent me to the wrong “Sellwood Yoga” , there are actually two locations very close to each other, but this is not mentioned anywhere. The first studio was locked, and only after driving away did I realize there was a second one. I arrived a few minutes late, and no one was at the front desk. The instructor didn’t acknowledge me or offer any guidance. For a studio that promotes mindfulness and community, the lack of clarity and welcome was surprising. They should clearly mention the two locations and give better instructions for first-time visitors.
I took Lana’s restorative yoga class at 7:30pm on Wednesday nights and I slept so good! I’ve been traveling the PNW for about 2 months now and haven’t been able to drop into a yoga class so not only was this long overdue but it was exactly what I needed … always happens like that .. she was very intentional with the flow of the class and focused on letting the soft feminine in and incorporated somatic movements .. my nervous system was so happy ! Highly recommend taking her class if you have been go,go,go or having trouble sleeping this will help you .. I promise
Nice clean studio offering multiple classes throughout the week as well as retreats. Been going for several months and my favorite is restorative yoga on Monday evenings with Quinn. She will go around the room and make sure that every person is as comfortable as possible. In addition, the positions are held for 15-20 minutes at a time which works well for me because it takes me at least 5-10 minutes to settle into a position enough to feel the benefits.
