Awesome small park in St. Petersburg, while driving into downtown, I saw this place, I have seen it before, and always said I wanted to visit it, today we did. It's a $15. Fee for seniors, and I believe $18 general admission, as soon as you enter, you feel like you are entering a forest, it has immaculate paths very well maintained with plenty of plants trees 🌳 and a small amount of wildlife, although small, it's very well planned, we really enjoyed our visit and plan to return 😀 😉
Sunken Gardens is honestly one of the most beautiful places in the St. Pete area. In my opinion a true hidden gem. You would never even know it’s there until you step inside, and then it feels like you’ve been transported somewhere completely different. Everything is so lush and peaceful, and it’s all incredibly well maintained. The entire garden is super walkable, which makes it easy to take your time and really soak it all in. The animals and birds are absolutely beautiful, and you can tell they’re loved and very well taken care of. There’s such a calm, intentional energy throughout the space. It’s genuinely stunning and such a special place to visit. I’ll definitely be back.
My husband planned a day starting with this and I loved it! We were in town visiting family and he found this while doing some research. This was a wonderful stop that I will always remember. The history behind it is really fascinating, and everything we saw was beautiful. We went a few days before New Year's Eve, so it was still decorated for Christmas and was lovely. We saw different birds, we counted the amount of little lizards lounging on signs and leaves, and learned about a lot of different plants, flowers, and greenery. There's a little historic center within the garden that I suggest you take the time for. It gives you a greater appreciation for what was there and what's there now. They also do weddings, which OMG this would have been on my list if I lived here. The entry fee was very reasonable and we spent at least 2 hours here wandering around, reading the signs, and basking in the beauty. We took a Christmas ornament home with us as a way to remember the trip forever. Give it a try, it won't disappoint!
The Sunken Garden offers a peaceful and beautifully landscaped space filled with colorful flowers, lush greenery, and charming pathways. I loved the relaxing atmosphere and shaded walkways, and how well-maintained everything felt. One of my favorite parts was watching the flamingos — the lady who was feeding them shared interesting facts I didn’t know, like how they fly to cold areas and spend a short vacation there. I also really enjoyed the variety of cactuses I had never seen before. It’s a quiet, lovely spot that’s perfect for photos and a calming stroll.
Absolutely loved this place! I saw blue jays butterflies and spent some time with the fish they have some birds to look at as well. So many spots to just sit down and enjoy the scenery and weather. I was there in December and loved the little train set up they had with Christmas ornaments and one of the trees. Highly recommend if you're in the area I'll definitely be going back.
