Home Hero couldn't have been easier to work with. After a leak caused a third of our bedroom ceiling to fall, they showed up a day after we accepted their proposal, removed the remainder of the ceiling, replaced the drywall, and primed and painted the ceiling, and painted the walls, within 4 days. Easy to work with. Good communication. Excellent work!! I highly recommend!
We have used Home Hero several times over the last few years for various small projects around the house. They have installed lighting, bathroom vanities, floating shelves, a whole wall cabinet system from IKEA, and a few other random handyman type jobs. They have always provided quality work and have been responsive and polite in all our communication. Absolutely recommended.
UPDATE: Note that below the owner replies to my post indicating that they offer a 6-month guarantee. While I was not aware of that and that would have been nice to know/use for the fact that the awning came out crooked, it would not have averted the larger issue of the torn awning fabric (as a result of a poor installation, which only revealed itself two years later, well after the warranty expired). In short, the owner takes no real responsibility and as usual blames it on the customer. Classic. ORIGINAL: Hired these bozos to set up an awning at my house and they did a poor job; paying the price years later. We hired this company to set up an awning on our back patio. They spent the whole day putting it together and finally pinged me to let me know it was finished. The thing is that they weren't able to get the automated remote controller part working and said I would have to call customer support for the awning product to get it fixed. My first mistake was accepting this excuse and allowing them to leave without proving that the awning worked as intended. I did eventually call customer support and got the awning remote controller fixed and opened the awning, only to see that it was crooked. Obviously by this time the work was done, the bill paid, etc. Shame on me for being nonchalant about checking their work. Not long after that we noticed that the awning started coming out of the fittings and I had to zip tie it to keep it in. So for a few years (this was 2.5 years ago) my wife and I lived with the crooked awning. Not ideal, but like most things, you get used to it. The other day the awning ripped down the center. Of course you're probably saying, well it's been 2.5 years how is that their fault. The reason is, because now (and just now), I realize they installed the awning upside down. Imagine a roll of TP, you can pull from the top, or the bottom. It should have been installed so that it was pulling from the top (like the way my neighbor has it, who has the same one), but they installed it so that it pulled from the bottom. Because of that, overtime, the wheels wore down the fabric and eventually tore it down the middle. Note also my neighbor has the same product, but used different people to install it - no problems. So, just a crappy job by this company. Don't hire.
We got tired of paying a second handyman to fix the first guys mistakes so we contacted HH via their Virtual Estimate. They got back to me the next day, and the quote was in the same ballpark as others we received so we went ahead with our kitchen wall repair. They did a nice job, and we were happy with the outcome (see photos). We already have other projects in mind and will be contacting them again. Nice job Home Hero Team!
Home Hero has saved the day for me many times in the past year as I have settled into my new home. My inspector recommended them and they built a wall to create a bedroom for me on the first floor for guests I needed to host long term. Over the past year, they have hung heavy artwork and baby cameras in addition to moving heavy furniture between floors. When they build furniture, it is strong enough for climbing toddlers and also secure for child safety! Thank you, Home Hero!
