This used to be our favorite toy store growing up and then buying our own kids toys but every time we’ve gone here in the last year we’ve had the worst customer service which changes the whole experience as a shopper. They have cute toys and wrap the presents very nicely, but some of the workers (one particularly from our last few visits) was rude and not helpful and not warm or friendly at all when we had questions. It seemed like she legitimately did not care about the customers. The quality of some of the toys has also gone down from what it used to be. We got one item that literally broke within a minute of our son playing with it (gently and normally, not aggressively) and when we asked about replacing it they questioned us as if it was our fault that the item was broken rather than just doing what good customer service would do and apologize and replace it (it was a $1.99 item so that was a very cheap missed opportunity to portray good customer service in my opinion).
We are so lucky to have this store in town! We have purchased gifts at this store many times, going there with a specific something in mind, or just knowing we'll find something awesome. There is something for everyone - from puzzles to dolls, from big to small, and everything in between. I appreciate an independent toy store where you can look and touch toys before deciding, and where there are people happy to help you select just the right thing!
The Wooden Horse is hands down one of my favorite stores in all of Los Gatos! From the moment you step through the door, you can feel the warmth and care that goes into every inch of this place. It’s clean, beautifully organized, and filled with the most amazing selection of toys, games, and gifts for kids of all ages. The staff are always so kind and genuinely helpful, you can tell they really love what they do. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel welcome the second you walk in. Every time I need a gift and have no idea what to get, I head straight to The Wooden Horse, and I always find something perfect. It’s so refreshing to shop somewhere that still has that personal touch and pride in what they offer. The Wooden Horse isn’t just a toy store it’s an experience. I can’t recommend it enough!
What a fantastic toy store!! It is so nice to have a lovely store to shop in and they will even gift wrap your purchase for you. I have been a customer here for many years. First for my children and now for my grandchildren. The staff are so nice and knowledgable. It is always a wonderful experience every time I visit the Wooden Horse.
Very good collection !! I found some puzzles of Melissa & Doug’s which is exactly what I was looking for.
