I went over for a Judo session. Enjoyed every minute of it. Great instructors (they really took the time to help me learn and develop all the movements). Will definitely be coming back.
The judo is pretty good, about 15 adults on the mat on a Tuesday and Saturday, less on a Thursday, usually a mix of Dan and kyu grades and a few novices, more older players than 18-25, on the chilled out end of judo clubs, very not 'sensei etc'... some very good players, ex Bulgarian national, 4-5 coaches, very welcoming, most go for coffee in Costa after on Sat. They do a little tour each year too. Last one to Bulgaria, before that Frankfurt, next one Casablanca in April 2025
Great dojo with great energy and great people, I've trained there today with my son both BJJ and Judo and will definitely return. The BJJ class is of a good technical level and I imagine the Judo class is a bit more relax that in the weekdays but should be perfect for a Saturday morning. Both classes were packed so there is a good selection of training partners.
A fantastic gym to train judo and bjj. They have different membership types so you only have to pay for the sports you’re interested in and all memberships include access to the weights and machines. There’s a good mix of morning and evening classes throughout the week. Many of the coaches are high level players and they’re always happy to spend extra time sharing their knowledge. You can tell they do it because they love it which contributes to the great sense of community at this gym. The receptionists are also lovely people who do their best to help you out so long as you are kind. Tokei is the right place for you if you’re looking to learn and improve and also make some friends along the way.
Love this gym a few mins walk from either Tower or London Bridges. I taught classes here prior to the pandemic and was delighted to return. The mat is HUGE and the members and staff are friendly. Both gyms have a range of equipment that keeps workouts fun and interesting. I've even started wrestling which I wasn't sure about and now love it and there's an MMA class to suit anyone, so much versatility. Come and say 'hi' to us and explore
