Convenient community space with vibe. Packed today. I’ve tried coming by a number of times but this coffee place isn’t scheduled to open til 8 am on weekdays, 9 on Sunday. Unfortunately, coffee was undrinkable without coffee flavor. Cream from a broken dispenser. Too crowded to complain or get anyone’s attention. Apricot scones and croissants were a goal for me and they had them but I went for the yoghurt parfait with homemade granola served with ample honey. The honey was great! Yoghurt was off. I enjoy sitting in the parking lot in front of the shop and next to a thrifting store even if the seats are uncomfortable. This place is more community than quality and I hope they stay packed and busier than they can handle.
Delicious coffee and a beautiful atmosphere—couldn’t ask for more on a Saturday morning. Shoutout to the baristas for keeping the vibe warm with their smiles, laughter, and great service. Did also order an egg bagel but was a bit disappointed with the eggs not being freshly cooked, they’re reheated.
I’m obsessed with cafes. I make it my business on weekends to get experiment with a new spot to enjoy a cup of coffee while working on my laptop. This place did not disappoint. The neighborhood (Mt.Vernon), the music, the lighting, the furniture/decor, indoor & outdoor seating, the vibes. The list just goes on. The staff were very welcoming. And oh, they sell vinyl records! The cappuccino was the best I’ve had locally. The cold brew was ok. Can’t remember the name of the chicken salad I ordered. But it tasted better than I anticipated. Fresh ingredients is always a plus. Also tried the vegan brownie. I’m not into vegan foods. But I figured I’d try it anyhow. Wasn’t disappointed. Will be returning sooner than later.
really cute and chill super queer friendly spot. love the matcha spritzers, the matcha is bright green, fresh, and quality. try the coconut jasmine aka a surfer-maki for my beach bois ;) absolutely love the creative and always vegan mac and cheese flavors. not new to this spot but im back in the neighborhood and i will be back more! dont forget to browse their vinyls for your record collection. Nic (Nick? Nik?) was great!
Baby’s On Fire is a charming little coffee and bake shop with a unique personality. It’s also part record store, offering a small but curated selection of vinyl—a cool touch that sets it apart. The space is on the smaller side, but there’s a good amount of seating, and most people were quietly working on their laptops, giving it a calm, cozy vibe. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I asked who “Baby” was, and they shared that the shop is named after the song “Baby’s On Fire”—a fun bit of character that adds to the spot’s charm. I stopped in for a drink and ordered the Lavender Cardamom Latte. There was a small upcharge for oat milk, but nothing unreasonable. The drink was good—you could taste the lavender, and it was balanced, not overpowering. They offer iced or hot. The cost was $8 with oat milk charge and tax. Overall, this is a great place to relax, get some work done, or just enjoy a well-crafted coffee. I’ll definitely be back to try more from their drink menu! They also have vegan baked goods available.
