I’m visiting from Hawaii for a conference and with a snow storm hitting Baltimore the weekend prior, my colleague and I trekked four blocks from our hotel through hardened snow to find coffee. Google listed Morning Mugs as opening at 6:30 AM. We arrived at 7:55 AM, shivering and visibly freezing (I was unfortunately caught in the snow in Crocs). When we opened the door, instead of a greeting, the staff member coldly asked, "Did you order online?" We said no. She told us she had just arrived and that we should "come back in 30 minutes" if we wanted coffee. Her tone was rude and standoffish. We weren't even invited inside to warm up. I have worked in customer service, and I understand that things happen. I understand being late and feeling overwhelmed. However, it seems like common sense given the weather, and basic human decency, to serve the two humans standing in front of you before worrying about potential orders. We left and walked back through the snow to make our conference start time. I am writing this in hopes that management can use this as a training opportunity. Efficiency is important, but compassion for your customers is essential. What could have turned into an unforgettable experience of care and thoughtfulness, was instead a reminder of the sad truth of human social interaction.
What a cool place tucked away on a side street. A definite must for coffee lovers or in my case a sweet drink. Chose the breakfast sandwich with sausage and it certainly didn't disappoint. I prefer the small mom/pop type stores, so this was a great find in a busy city on a Sunday morning. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is so chill and relaxing. Its busy, but they are quick.
Tucked away off the beaten path in Fed Hill, this place is a great find, with great coffee! The nitro cold brew is smooth, with bold flavor…great way to get the day started. The staff/baristas are always friendly and make you feel welcomed. Definitely recommend you give them a try.
If you like doing work from outside the office or home. This place is open to nature, offers delicious custom mocha’s. Super fire spot. Glad I found it. Right in the heart of Fed Hill, the most scenic part of Baltimore
Morning Mugs is the perfect start to any day! The coffee is always fresh and flavorful, and the staff greets you with such kindness that it instantly feels like home. I love the cozy vibe, it’s the kind of place where you can sit with a good cup, catch up with a friend, or just enjoy a quiet moment before the day gets busy. As a realtor, I’m always on the lookout for local spots to share with clients, and Morning Mugs is one of those special Baltimore gems I’m proud to recommend. ☕✨ — Ali Hudler, Hudler Homes
