We had a wonderful adventure with our guide Matt Fox this morning! He’s knowledgeable in different areas such as species & our echo system. Along with speaking in terms anyone can understand. Really made us feel at ease in our kayaks too. And saw are very first Eagle nest.
I'm not allowed to put less than one star, but I would if I could. I was there to enjoy a peaceful morning at the lake, fishing with my wife this past weekend. We had our chairs setup and were actively fishing when a yoga class led by "Kristen," paddles out and stops right in front of us. We asked if they were going to stay there or keep moving and we were met with the middle finger for an answer, not only once, but a total of three times. This is rude, unprofessional and very aggressive behavior from a yoga instructor. The whole situation was very concerning and could have been avoided if "Kristen" had just been kinder and more open to friendly communication rather than jumping to disrespectful hand gestures. I would recommend everyone stay far away from this hostile group, if possible.
Big Muddy is awesome! I’m grateful that they have kayaks to rent here at Simpson Lake since I don’t have the ability to store and transfer my own kayak. Rates are reasonable, the staff is great, and there’s a ton of wildlife to see at Simpson Lake including a bald eagle’s nest!
Fantastic rentals available at Simpson Lake! I have my own kayak but love to have others join me on the Lake. I tend to rent one to two times a week for a friend or family member to join. It is easy and the staff is wonderful! Don’t forget to look up for the Eagles!
What an amazing outlet to have in STL. As many know, St. Louis is a river city, full of lakes and other beautiful waterways that are unfortunately rarely used recreationally. Big Muddy Adventures has created a convenient and affordable way to explore some of the waters that make this city so beautiful.
