I wish the in store inventory matched even a fraction of what is shown to be available on-line. Went looking for a particular paint brand (after researching and finding online and it showing that it was in-store) only to find out that you can only buy the product from their digital inventory. I was right on the middle of an art project and just needed to go grab the paint really quick. Ended up having to use an alternative—so grateful that some option existed but really the internet and its “ease of access” is taking something from us when it comes to just day to day relations etc. All in all a solid enough amount of options to get u started on your creative projects.
I can't wait to go back to this store. Was in a huge rush but was immediately greeted & offered assistance (I'm a sucker for great customer service!). Found what I needed quickly but will definitely come back for all my art needs.
This makes no sense. The prices you find on their website are not the prices at the store. If you purchase at the store, they will inexplicitly add shipping cost on top of it. The item I purchased was $8 online. At the store, they charged me $15 after I signed up to be a Blick member to get online sale price. When I asked them about the upsell, they explained that customers are charged shipping cost in addition for shopping at the physical store. This makes absolutely no sense. I'd recommend shopping elsewhere where they are transparent about their prices and don't use low prices to get customers to come into their stores only to charge them double. Went out of my way to support a local business but certainly not giving them my business again.
I spoke with Jenna from the Oakland store who was so helpful that I had to write a review so that management would know she is a very professional, knowledgeable and kind employee. If I still owned my own business, I would hire her in a second. Thank you, Blick, for hiring such great people.
I went in looking for a ready mat to fit a 12x12 watercolor painting. They didn't have that size, but it was good to see all that they do offer. I understand that they have even more at the Blick store in Berkeley.
