I ordered the Ethnicraft Bok Dining Table an had it delivered to my home in Nevada. SOBU did a great job communicating all the steps along the way and the table was delivered with care. I love love love the table, it’s one of my favorite things in our newly renovated home. Thank you!
Sobu demanded an extra $500 or refused to ship — two weeks after charging my card and confirming delivery. After my order was paid and confirmed, Sobu continued emailing me about delivery timing and shipping logistics. Two weeks after payment, Sobu attempted to retroactively reprice the order. What made this especially concerning is how it was presented: • They claimed I owed about $300 for the “discount removal,” but that amount was calculated using a higher base price than the one shown at checkout. • Then, when I clicked their payment link, the invoice totaled $500 because it added $200 shipping—even though shipping had originally been free and this additional fee was not disclosed upfront. When I raised concerns and asked for clarification, they did not acknowledge the issue or take responsibility for the post-purchase changes, and instead maintained that this was acceptable. At that point the message was clear: pay hundreds more after your card has already been charged and delivery confirmed, or your order won’t ship. I canceled. Posting this so other customers understand the risk.
We came across SOBU on Instagram and were immediately drawn to the products and style. We’ve purchased a rug and side table and couldn’t be happier with the customer service and products. We ordered another rug soon after and are sadly still waiting on it three months later but the team has been good with sending updates. If we lived closer, it would be dangerous as we’d probably buy everything!
We are huge fans of SOBU Oakland. Over the years we have purchased a beautiful walnut live edge dinning table, live edge bench and chairs as well as the Mellow sofa and stools from Ethnicraft for our kitchen island. The quality and craftsmanship of the furniture and accessories are unsurpassed. We cannot recommend SOBU more highly for beautiful pieces that will enhance our home for a lifetime all curated and delivered with excellent customer service.
I LOVE SOBU! Purchased my dining room table and chairs along with a bench and couldn’t be happier. Everyone I have dealt with has been incredibly helpful and delivery always on time! I highly recommend shopping from this wonderful store!
