She made the entire experience stress-free from vendor selections to day-of coordination. I tell Colleen all the time I wish we could plan a party like that together every year!

We hired Colleen in January 2025 and terminated our contract in April. From the beginning of our experience with her, we felt she treated us unprofessionally and her performance was disappointing. In the three months we worked with her, we received no onboarding materials, no structured plan, no proposed timeline, and no meaningful vendor coordination. Her “referrals” appeared to be copy-pasted lists from other sources, often for vendors based far outside our area with seemingly no regard for our style or budget. She missed an important planned call and never followed up with an explanation or offer to reschedule. During our communications with her we struggled to see any initiative, organization, or real understanding of our needs. Frustrated but determined to make it work, we asked to downgrade our arrangement from full-service planning to day-of coordination in hopes of salvaging the relationship with minimal drama. Instead of a what we would have considered a professional response, we received a late-night email packed with disorganized, rambling commentary about how she had "wrestled all day" with how to respond and was disappointed by our request. The entire note felt unhinged and inappropriate and was riddled with typos. Colleen ultimately offered us a 50 percent refund (on the already paid deposit) in return for terminating the contract, which we accepted. Two full weeks later, the money showed up with a single line email. We did not pursue it further and went on to work with an incredible day-of wedding planner who was worth every penny. I could go on and on about the problems we had with her, but what pushed me to post this is that I recently saw Colleen threatening other former clients with lawsuits for leaving negative reviews. Let me be very clear: that is not only a wildly inappropriate response to valid criticism, but my understanding is that firsthand reviews based on truthful statements of fact are not legally actionable even if they result in reputational harm. Moreover, attempting to silence clients through intimidation is not just unprofessional, but in my opinion is also unethical and disgraceful. If you are considering CCS Events, I strongly encourage you to read the one-star reviews here and elsewhere. Pay attention to the dates and the consistency of the feedback. Doing business with Colleen resulted in loss of our time and money and I believe we are not the only ones. I would not recommend this business.
