Our second visit, we accidentally discovered the place last year. Absolutely the best breakfast I've had in Melbourne city in years. Very friendly staff too!
**Title: Don’t believe the hype – a total disappointment** I took the family here for breakfast based on the great reviews on Google Maps, but the reality was entirely different. It was a massive letdown from start to finish. ### The Food & Coffee I ordered the **pork sandwich**, and it was pathetic. It only contained a couple of small pieces of meat that didn't look appealing at all. We also ordered large cappuccinos because they were advertised as being served "in a mug." Instead, they came in glasses (see attached picture). This was incredibly impractical and uncomfortable because the glass was far too hot to touch. To make matters worse, it wasn't even a real cappuccino; there was zero foam. It was just a poorly made, flat coffee with milk. ### Service & Wait Times The service was terrible. Upon arrival, the host told us there would be a 30-minute wait, but it ended up taking 45 long minutes for the food to arrive. Because the kids were starving, my wife eventually walked up to the cashier to ask if we could just buy a couple of the croissants on display to tide them over. The cashier was incredibly rude; she spoke to her very dismissively and told her she had to go back to the table and just keep waiting for the food. ### Final Verdict All in all: bad service, poor coffee, mediocre food, and unreasonable waiting times. Save your money and go somewhere else in the CBD that actually values its customers.
I chance upon Chef Jungle on Google map and notice that they serve brunch menu so my wife and I dropped by to try it out. We had Avocado Toast and big breakfast with the latte and flat white. The portion and tastes were amazing. Look at the amount of Avocado they have on the toast! Food is really nice and the service we received on that morning was excellent. Highly recommend as we had a great time there.
28 Nov 2025 A nice place to have a quiet breakfast. Not much customer while we are there. Good music. Since we're not big eaters, the big breakfast is pretty good, just nice to share for 2.
