What a wonderful date night we had at Cowford Chophouse. We started the evening with a cocktail and appetizer on the rooftop. The service and salmon dip was on point up there. We moved down to the 2nd floor and continued by sharing the scallops and I had the most delicious lamb chops I’ve had since I was in Australia. My wife had the NY steak. Our server surprised us with a free dessert of our choosing since we were celebrating our 11Th anniversary. The ridiculous chocolate cake was delicious. All in all, we enjoyed our evening at Cowford and look forward to our next celebration there.

Okay, it wasnt bad, let me start with that. It was pretty delicious. But was it 100/plate delicious? No way. We asked for a medium steak. My husband generally prefers medium well but knows thats sacrilege in a place like this and said medium. Came out medium rare at best. Its a 100 dollar steak! Cook it a few more minutes! The sides and drinks were average. We've been to several steak places just in Jacksonville that have far exceeded this place and the cost wasnt nearly so much. They also sat us right next to other couples when half the restaurant was empty....a little privacy would have been nice. And my husband sat in the outside chair and spent most of the meal being blinded by the fading sun. Very disappointed overall.

Went to the rooftop first since there was a wait for our table even though we had a reservation. About 20 minutes later, the hostess came up to the rooftop, but not for us. My friend asked the hostess if it’s ok if we come downstairs to dine a little later as we just ordered an appetizer. She said that was fine. We came downstairs about 30 minutes later and she said she forgot to tell us that we were already past our reservation time and so now the wait is around a half hour for a table. That was frustrating. It was a beautiful evening though, so it was nice to be outside and so we decided to just have dinner on the rooftop which had plenty of open seating. The salmon dip appetizer was tasty. The wedge salad seemed like the blue cheese dressing was a little watery, but overall still a good salad. The crab cakes had a good amount of lump crab meat in them, so I was happy with that. And the server on the rooftop was always pleasant.

I can confidently say Cowford Chophouse is a true gem in Jacksonville! The food was outstanding—my steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. But the real surprise was their cornbread dish—honestly the best I’ve ever had in the world. We decided to head up to the rooftop, and it was the perfect choice. The view of downtown Jacksonville is stunning, especially while enjoying their delicious drinks. Inside is just as beautiful, with an upscale yet welcoming atmosphere. Overall, this is a 10/10 dining experience that I’d recommend to anyone looking for great food, drinks, and vibes.

This is my second visit here. Came here last time for my birthday. Be prepared to spend some money. With drinks, appetizers and your meal, our bill for two people was $330. To counter this, this is one of the best steaks I ever had. Everything is delicious, the side dishes are shareable. The onion straws are a good choice and both the asparagus and potato Au Gratin were also a great choice, even the mix drinks were well balanced. The service here is exemplary! Your meal is brought out to every person by a server at the same time and placed in front of you simultaneously. Very classy. The server is always checking and attending to your table. I will definitely be a return guest, but just on special occasions due to the cost. That’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars.
