I cannot recommend E.M.I enough! If your stuck in that intermediate trap or even just starting out. Donovan at emi makes even the "boring" guitar or instrument practice engaging, simple and fun!!

Donovan has been teaching my children for 7 and 5 years respectively. His teaching style with both of them clicked straight away. In that time they excelled under his tutelage and guidance and music has become a major part of their lives. This has involved electric guitar, classical guitar, bass guitar, music theory, composition and music production including use of software such as DAWs. He has tailored lesson plans to their current needs and was heavily involved in the HSC Music 2 practical teaching of my eldest child. He has been supportive of all their musical endeavours. His flexible teaching and approachability made continuing lessons with him an easy choice. Donovan has taught them across a broad variety of genres allowing them to have an appreciation in the diversity of musical applications. He is a highly skilled teacher and accomplished musician and we could not speak more highly of him and appreciate all that he has done in teaching my children. Highly recommend.
I cannot recommend Donovan's lessons highly enough!! I have avoided going back to guitar lessons for a long time because I knew that my theory foundations were not very strong and I have dreaded having to learn theory but also knew that it was important if I wanted to progress. Donovan somehow weaves theory in with practical application in a way that is not only interesting and inspiring but also easy to learn and supports everything to fit together in an easy to remember way. I have made so much progress during our lessons and have so much more confidence with song writing and creating unique and interesting ideas than I did previously. The lessons are extremely well paced and Donovan is very open to being guided by your learning needs, which I really appreciate! I also do my lessons via zoom because I live in a different state, and I was a bit unsure about how this would go initially but it works perfectly so I would definitely recommend that to others who might be hesitant about this format. Highly recommend these lessons and I'm sure Donovan's knowledge and expertise translates to the other instruments he teaches as well!
