Coach josue is awesome! He coached our community turkey run warm up, (even though he had other plans that day) he still showed up and gave it his all! Super kind and very knowledgeable! Highly recommend!
I’ve been coming to this boxing gym for a while now, and it honestly feels like my second home. The energy here is always so motivating! everyone pushes you to be your best without ever making you feel out of place. The coaches are super patient, knowledgeable, and they really take their time to correct your form and teach you real technique
I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share our experience so other parents are aware. • Unprofessional environment: Music is blasting at all times, making it hard to focus. Trainers yell random things across the gym, creating a chaotic and unpleasant atmosphere for both trainees and parents. • Lack of structure: There is no clear training program. After the very first session (which is somewhat one-on-one), kids are expected to jump right in with little guidance, even if they’ve never boxed before. • No real coaching: The exercises seem geared toward general fitness rather than building skills for future boxers. There’s no consistent one-on-one training or progression plan. • Unsafe sparring practices: My 14-year-old was thrown into the ring against an adult with much more experience. While my child stood his ground, he got hurt. This is not only irresponsible but dangerous. • Trainer behavior: Trainers use foul language and shout across the gym, which adds to the unprofessional vibe. • Front desk staff: Rude and dismissive, which only adds to the negative experience. • Cost vs. value: The fees are outrageously high for what is essentially a disorganized fitness class, not a proper boxing program. • Cancellation fee: On top of everything, they demand a $200 cancellation fee. Why should parents pay this when the business isn’t delivering what’s expected? • Not a true boxing gym: This feels more like a CrossFit-style fitness center than a boxing gym. Trainers only seem to give real attention to kids whose parents “kiss up,” while others are left behind. Final Thoughts Save your money and look elsewhere if you or your kids are serious about learning boxing. This gym does not provide a safe, structured, or professional environment, and the way they run things is simply unacceptable.
Best gym in El Paso, hands down! Garcia’s House of Boxing is an incredible place, and a huge part of that is because of the owner, Josue Garcia. He’s not just an awesome trainer - he’s a genuinely great person who truly cares about the community. Josue recently came all the way down to Fort Hancock to help out at one of our community events, and his willingness to go out of his way for others really speaks volumes about his character. We are so grateful for his support and dedication to helping people beyond just the gym walls. If you’re looking for a place to train in El Paso, this is it. You won’t find a better gym or a better person to learn from. Highly recommend Garcia’s House of Boxing!!
My experience with this boxing facility has been disappointing due to ongoing issues with structure and communication. I was given by other parents this warning when I joined but I truly hoped it wasn’t true. After expressing concerns to the owner, I expected the conversation to remain confidential. However, the trainer I mentioned was informed and later confronted me about the complaint, which was unprofessional and uncomfortable. When I decided to cancel my membership, I was told I needed to pay a cancellation fee, even though my contract did not include one. The owner later acknowledged that the staff member who handled my account would have to pay out of her check my fee. I also spoke to another office member who was actually working with me to figure the best solution and according to the owner “ she was just getting on board” mind this she works as management shows a lack of training and consistency among the staff. When I spoke to owner and attempted to cancel I was even hanged up on. The biggest red flag for me was safety — my child was left outside unsupervised during running drills. There are other businesses behind the building that stay open late, and it’s just not safe for kids to be left unattended. The only positive aspect of this facility is the trainer Zorro , who is dedicated and good with the kids. Unfortunately, management and front staff do not demonstrate the same level of care or professionalism. Overall, the facility lacks organization, clear communication, and proper supervision. I would not recommend it to parents looking for a safe and well-managed environment for their children.
