Display cabinets in downstairs fast food are empty. Order your own food on screens Hot drinks discontinued Sent me upstairs - they have no take away cups to bring tea down Staff in upstairs restaurant told me to go downstairs because she thinks they have tea Had a tantrum when I left the saucer because she have me the wrong information. Good idea to send your customer upstairs and downstairs
4 star because nowhere is perfect. The food is brilliant, it's cheap and tasty the storage options and kitchen solutions are excellent. Good place to get stuff when your starting off especially when starting off. With a mild that some things will need upgrading later
Went to IKEA in Cardiff to meet up with the mandem and do a bit of furniture shopping for my boy’s yard. First off free parking which is always a blessing for my wallet. Straight after that we hit the food bit and grabbed some cheap hot dogs. I tried the plant based hot dog and the veggie one. Prices were mad cheap 95p for the plant based and 65p for the veggie. Pennies is always music to a Bengali man’s ears. Only downside was the condiment station. Absolutely nasty. Looked like Asmongold’s bedroom. Straight grim. Clearly hadn’t been wiped down in a while. I even clocked a bit of hair stuck to the ketchup pump which put me right off. I did grab a dairy ice cream whip with a Flake though and that was nice. At least the ice cream machine was working cough cough McDonald’s. Does not matter how cheap the food is, cleanliness is a must. Now onto the store itself. IKEA to me is a national treasure. Greatest store in UK history. I love it. You could get lost in there for hours just looking at the stuff they sell. Big fan of their kitchen designs and living room setups. Everything just looks clean and well thought out. Beautiful designs all round. If you are going for furniture shopping, this is easily the best shop in the world. If you are going just for the food though, yikes. Also shout out to Alison. I was looking for a tea bag box holder and instead of just pointing me in a direction she walked me straight to the product. Solid move from her. Later on I made a trip to the IKEA restaurant just for the Daim chocolate cake. Delicious and tasty as always. Only let down there was the IKEA own brand soft drinks. Absolute disgrace. Flat and flavourless. Other than that though IKEA still holds its crown.
Edited First time coming here. Was expecting more to be honest. Lack of signage instore doesn't help either. Me snd my husband both felt like we was in st Fagans half the time the rooms they had on display lol. In my head I had all this storage available to view. Reality wise what a disappointment. I did go back there for storage and spent a fortune, to then be charged for 2 cupboards when only had 1. Didn't realise until on way home stuck in traffic Only way for refund is go to store. Apparently they can't check cctv over phone only if u go into store. Absolute joke. 🙄 I had alot of boxes so easily confused but their cctv follows u everywhere. They should of picked up on that but the lady should of checked tidy also. Because we did tell her how much of each we had .
I mean it's IKEA so that traditionally for me has meant a few good bits but mostly stuff that looks good in a student flat. This visit however they have some mid century looking pieces and some nice kitchens etc. sofas that were actually comfy, all that really could look good in an older more grown up property. They had some nice bits in all departments which for my taste I've never seen before. We had lunch there 12 meatballs mash jam, a salad bowl, garlic bread, apple cake and whipped cream and a latte for around £12 each it was fabulous. You get to pick a plate of desert from a cabinet, as well as a salad bowl and the guys serve the mains. The hot drinks are from a machine but they are tasty. We did cave a bit and ordered a couple of sofas, which have a 2 day delivery, some plates and cups and a vase and a display case. It seems to have grown up this season.
