PLEASE READ before you consider care with Dr. Adrianna Browne. I went to this doctor because she was a POC woman and so I thought I would feel safe with her. I was mistaken. She is rude, dismissive, and INCORRECTLY MISDIAGNOSED ME WITH ALOPECIA AREATA, leaving me completely misinformed of my hair loss condition, distraught, and the most stressed I've ever been in my life. Given that she doesn't take insurance, I was paying out of pocket for the appointments, and then she had me go through two rounds of costly steroid injections to my eyebrows that were completely useless given that I DO NOT HAVE ALOPECIA AREATA. Eventually, I was given a diagnosis correction by THREE hair loss experts/dermatologists at world renowned academic health care systems including Stanford. They didn't even have to run tests; all they did was look at my hair condition and history, and it was obvious what my condition was. Some "hair loss expert" she is. Please reconsider being seen by this doctor.
I felt very comfortable talking to someone who looks like me. Someone who understood how ethnic hair "works". And, she was also shooting "straight" with her assumptions of what was going on. It was done with ease and sympathy of her client. I would also like to add, her assistant was very nice as well. Very accommodating.
I think that a $50 copayment for a 15 minute appointment plus what my insurance pays isn't a fair business practice in spite of the results. I spent more time with the medical assistant that I did with my doctor. As a patient I feel this type of business practice is not sustainable and should be reviewed.
Saw Dr. Brown yesterday and already feeling better about my issue. She was patient and attentive. Will definitely make her my designated dermatologist. ☺️
The staff and doctor at Illustra Dermatology are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Dr. Browne is not only highly knowledgeable but also has a comforting bedside manner. She takes the time to answer all questions patiently, making every visit reassuring and informative.
