Stopped in to buy a gift and it did not disappoint. Great variety of gifts at a pleasant price. Got it wrapped up by the store too!
This is my favourite boutique in the triangle! It’s so thoughtfully curated and everything! is! beautiful. There is a huge range of prices to fit your budget and I have loved coming here for years.
I stumbled upon this gift shop during my vacation to Durham. I thought the area was beautiful considering all of the gorgeous bricks and storefronts, but don’t let the outside fool you. The owner made me extremely uncomfortable to the point I had to leave the store, I couldn’t so much as pick up a pair of glasses without her being glued to my back like a hawk. If you are a Black person you’d be better off taking your business elsewhere. Shame on you.
Wanted to shop to buy a gift for my mother only to be followed around the store by the owner. Fitting for a store name that's literally a RACIAL SLUR. I was excited to come in and shop and I was READY to buy something until I noticed that as soon as my sister and I came in and the store owner saw us, her energy changed. She immediately started following us around wherever we went, pretending to pick things up and move them to another part of the table. My sister asked her where the book store was because we were having a hard time looking for it. She seemed annoyed we even were talking to her and she just said "it's two doors down." At this point, I am so annoyed because I'm now noticing that she feels so threatened by our presence, she's ignoring other customers walking around looking as well to just monitor us. My sister and I then went to the book store, and it had been closed and empty for like a month. The woman in the book store who was sweeping an empty room was very kind and talkative and was glad to tell us the story of why the book store closed. But I couldn't help to be annoyed that the "INDIO" store owner knew this and sent us over there anyway because she just wanted us out of her store. I'm no stranger to racial profiling and this was too obvious to pass off as if it was nothing. And to the store owner, if you see this, "Indio" to some people is a slur, when I simply googled the name of your store to write this review it, it came up. If you are so triggered by people of color, then maybe don't name your store something that sounds ethnic?
To quote Moira Rose- positively winsome. What a great store. I came here because they sell a local honey and I left with so much more. They even were so welcoming and kind to my little dog. Thank you for a great experience. I’ll definitely be back.
