The variety of products at this LCBO is second to none. Very bad for my wallet!!! Both upstairs and downstairs (huge Vintages section) carry well-known and unique products, from wine to whiskey to gin to anything else. Service is always knowledgeable and friendly. I've never had to wait too long at the cash either. Parking can be a bit tricky, and getting in and out of the parking lot is the worst but it's that downtown location, unfortunately not much can be done about it. I still always go there when I want a unique or high end selection.
There’s one woman she made me and my friend give us ID to get couple beers as I’m celebrating our friends anniversary. Have no idea why she made my friend hand out his Id even tho he wasn’t purchasing anything
My favourite LCBO! My husband and I live in Niagara, but our son and his partner live in Ottawa. They love to take us to this LCBO, for great reasons. The staff are exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. My favourite space in this store is the basement, which is where you can find the best vintage selections. On Saturday’s they have a nice wine tasting bar, where you can taste some of their favourite selections. Today, they served some wines from France and Greece. The staff, specifically Dias, Molly, Nesta and Emilia are exceptional! They are so knowledgeable about all the wines they are serving, which I love listening to. They can tell you what region the wine is from, the grapes that were used, the descriptions and personal tastes. They can describe all the specific tasting notes, what to expect on the nose, the palate and the wines’ texture. They also served little charcuterie cups with the wines, which is a great touch. All of the staff make you feel comfortable, at home and you feel as if you’re good friends. I can’t say enough about the entire staff and experience! And, they carry some really great vintages of my favourite wines, Riesling CSV & Estate, Chardonnay Estate and my absolute fave, La Penna, all from Cave Spring Winery in Jordan and Beamsville! ♥️🍷
Great selection. Good service. Two issues. 1) Security following me around the second I walk inside.. that makes me feel singled out because of my appearance (tattoos, substantial sized scars). 2) Line for Checkout. During even lightly busy times the Checkout line can span almost the length of the store! More cashiers needed during busy, "rush-hour" periods. Overall a great store.
This is Ottawa's biggest and best LCBO store with an incrediable selection of vintage wines and spirits especially downstairs. There you can find a 2007 bottle of French champagne that sells for $3,500. There are also more affordable vintage selections from around the world and Canada so take a peek around and see what they have. Additionally, there are wine tasting areas and even a private area for meals with wine tasting. If you get a chance do try it, it is a lot of fun and you may find food really does taste better with different types of wine and spirits. If you like my review, photos or videos raise your glass and give it a thumbs up.
